Marketing has evolved over the last decade so much that the classical methods are almost extinct. it’s like Orkut from the internet.
The primary purpose of marketing of any kind is to attract customers to your brand or product. So, it makes logical sense to use a platform that creates the maximum impact. Just to put things into perspective in June 2017 Facebook had 2 billion active users worldwide per month and growing exponentially every hour. That is almost like 1 in every 5 people in the world is on Facebook….and this is just one platform. The mathematics of Instagram, Twitter(X), YouTube, and LinkedIn are equally staggering.
The other biggest advantage of using social media for marketing is that it helps you to interact with your target audience directly without having to go through the hassles of large capital or a cumbersome process. Today customers demand tailor-made products along with the fine balance between reducing the turnaround time and yet achieving a pleasant experience. When the word gets around to other users it’s usually through a Facebook share an Instagram post or a Twitter feed.
So, the big question is how? The first step in most of the successful ventures is to plan. Planning here involves deciding the content, the preferred platform(s), the frequency of the outreach, etc. To help you plan there are some hardcore data analytics that give you a lot of weapons to conquer the social media world.
The most essential part is however to focus on the content itself. The crux of creating the right content is its relevancy to the target audience. Remember not to restrict yourself – posts, videos, pictures, other media, whatever.
Plan your social media presence regularly in a schedule – daily, weekly, monthly, etc to build consistency and loyalty. This would also project your brand image and core identity which the target audience can relate to.
In conclusion, make sure that you pack enough patience because social media marketing is not a button that can be flipped. It is more like a muscle that needs regular workouts but totally worth it as looks great, once built.
